    VMMC Clinical Provider (17 Positions)

    Institutional Background

    Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization affiliated with the Johns Hopkins University. Jhpiego has been working in Malawi since 1999 implementing a wide-range of interventions in maternal health, family planning, HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment. Current projects include facility and community-based HIV testing services, and HIV prevention

    Jhpiego intends to recruit suitable and a qualified candidate for the vacant positions below:

    Post: VMMC Clinical Provider IQ Project (17 posts)

    Duty station: Lilongwe district; Mitundu, Kabudula and Bwaila Zones

    Reports to: VMMC Zone Team Leader

    Position Summary

    The Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) Clinical Provider is responsible for providing safe Medical Male Circumcision Services to eligible persons in Malawi at designated facilities supported by Jhpiego. The position entails frequent travel to support fixed, outreach and campaign VMMC activities whenever and wherever in the district the need arises. The candidate should expect to travel to the field about 50% of his/her time. The VMMC Clinical Provider is an integral member of Jhpiego’s VMMC team.

    Required Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Competencies

    • Clinical Officer with Degree or Diploma in Clinical medicine with strong surgical skills OR State Registered Nurse with a Diploma or Degree in Nursing
    • Valid registration with the Malawi Medical Council OR Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi
    • At least two years of work experience in a hospital/clinic setting.
    • Training in or previous experience working in VMMC programs strongly desired.
    • Fluent written and spoken English and Chichewa
    • Willingness to engage in frequent travel (about 50% of his/her time) to support outreach and mass circumcision activities within Malawi.
