Illovo Sugar Malawi PLC’s Nchalo operations situated 80 km South of Blantyre invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following position of SHERQ Officer (Estate Support).
Position: SHERQ Officer (Estate Support)
KEY DUTIES
- Implement the Illovo way of SHERQ performance and related standards, systems, processes and applicable legislative requirements and promote SHERQ culture and awareness
- Support the functional area to effective;y implement, comply with and monitor SHERQ standards and processes, through coaching, guidance and communication with all relevant stakeholders
- Promote a culture of continuous SHERQ improvement and adherence
- Dacilitate SHERQ investigations and coordinate the verification of close-out actions
- Conduct inspections and internal audits to oversee and ensure the adherence to legislative and Illovo Integrated Risk Management System (IIRMS) requirements
- Promote and adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)
MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENT AREAS
- A Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Environmental Sciences/Health or any related field
- Candidates with qualifications in Safety (Samtrac/Nebosh/NOSA) or Quality Management or related areas will have an added advantage
- 2-3 years’ experience in an operational environment (factory/Agriculture), working in a health and safety role
- Candidates must have working knowledge of relevant ISO standards – 9000/22000 and Malawi Occupational Safety Health and Welfare Act legislation
