Job Description

The Lilongwe Academy is an international private school, conveniently situated in Area 47 Lilongwe. The Lilongwe Academy now invites applications from candidates who meet the qualifications and experience stated below to fill the vacant position of School Secretary.


Among other duties the successful candidates will be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Providing general administrative work,
  • Executing other tasks assigned by the Principal and other Managers,
  • Handling the reception and receiving visitors
  • Helping with the enrolment of the student i.e. entrance exams and registration processes
  • Collecting and entering of daily students and teachers attendance
  • Answering calls, taking messages and handling correspondence
  • Maintaining diaries and arranging appointments for the Principal
  • Typing, preparing and collating reports and other correspondences
  • Organising and servicing meetings (producing agendas and taking minutes)
  • Managing learners and staff databases
  • Organising offices of Managers

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of Diploma in Secretariat
  • Good typing skills
  • Computer literate
  • Good communication skills
  • At least 3to 5 years’ experience
  • Should be aged 25 and above
  • Self-motivated, team player, innovative and result oriented
