    Job Description

    Save the Children is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel to fill the position of Field Facilitator- Youth Sexual Reproductive Health & Economic Empowerment (2 Positions). The post holder will be responsible for implementation of Youth Economic Empowerment in Malawi project interventions at the grassroots in the aspects of economic empowerment (EE) and life skills for safe transition to adulthood. The main objectives under the project are threefold: (1) “Increased resilience among the poorest and most vulnerable out of school young men and women”- (Economic empowerment targeting 3,500 adolescents) (2) “Strengthened child protection mechanisms to reduce child and youth unsafe migration” and (3) “Enhanced self-efficacy and agency in SRHR among vulnerable out of school young men and women”. The project recognizes challenges that youth face to access descent livelihood opportunities and seeks to create a platform that could propel disadvantaged out of school youth to access better opportunities. Key roles for this position will among other things include: supporting beneficiaries to access youth friendly SRH services, informal financial services, livelihood skills development services and small-scale business opportunities. The role holder will support adolescents to improve their Life Skills and ensure adolescents’ meaningful engagement in matters that affect them and skills to support descent and sustainable livelihood options

    In order to be successful you will bring/have:

    • At least a diploma in community development with a strong leaning towards economic empowerment and social behaviour change communication, nursing/sexual and reproductive health and/or youth development or any other relevant fields.
    • A diploma in community development/nursing with demonstrable experience in youth economic empowerment and/or SBCC around sexual reproductive health or other relevant field will be an added advantage.
    • Demonstrated flexibility and creativity in planning, mobilization, execution and problem solving.
    • Demonstrated commitment to develop, acquire, document and apply best practices in related fields, and apply solutions to obstacles.
    • Experience in working with local NGO partners.
    • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills including facilitation.
    • Demonstrated supervision skills
    • Good interpersonal skills
    • Good command of English (written and verbal)
    • Self-starter
    • Commitment to Save the Children values and Child Safeguarding
    • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles
