Job Description

Save the Children is inviting applications from suitably qualified person to fill the vacant position of Livelihoods Youth Coordinator. The post holder shall coordinate technical support for partners and community agents on implementation of economic empowerment activities in relation to the Marriage: No Child’s Play project and will directly involve capacity strengthening for the partners, community agents as well as other stakeholders, facilitating documentation, monitoring and technical support. 

In order to be successful you will bring/have: 

  • Degree level qualification in Business administration, Agriculture Enterprise development, youth development, development studies and other relevant field from an accredited learning institution.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Economic development, Enterprise development, gender and youth livelihoods and particularly in programming for economic empowerment for vulnerable girls.
  • Post graduate level qualification will have added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of youth’s employment, small and micro enterprise, education and vocational skills training in a rural setting.
  • Track record of supporting youth into work and/or education or achieving other successful outcomes for youth 10-24 years.
  • Experience in delivery of gender programmes
  • Performance and quality management of children/youth programmes.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable girls in economic empowerment
  • Experience of delivering training to community based staff
  • Result-oriented, able to set priorities and meet deadlines within a dynamic environment
  • Mature and able to function well within flat management structures with extensive consultation and horizontal collaboration
  • Strong leadership skills including ability to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to forge excellent relationships with Adolescent youth.
  • A good understanding of best practice techniques for achieving and sustaining youth’s positive engagement.
  • Ability to work as part of field team and successfully join up work with partner staff
  • A good written and spoken English level
