Save the Children is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel to fill the position of Child Protection Project Coordinator for a UNICEF-funded program in Malawi. The goal of the project is to support capacity strengthening of Key Child Protection Structures at district and community levels, (District Social Welfare Offices), to conduct safe re-integration of vulnerable children from Child Care Institutions (CCIs) into their families/communities during this COVID-19 pandemic, also taking into consideration the impact of high numbers of migrant returnees and deportees from South Africa and other countries in these communities.
The purpose of this role is mainly to coordinate and facilitate the implementation of safe re-integration of children from key CCIs in Blantyre and Lilongwe Districts to their home districts during this COVID-19 period. The post holder will work in close collaboration with the Government DSWOs and the re-integration Officers (Interns) in the already running UNICEF funded safe re-integration program, to support the proper and safe re-integration processes which most CCIs missed out during this COVID-19 period. This work will mainly be based on the national safe re-integration model, which UNICEF (with funding from USAID) supported the Government of Malawi to adopt.
