To achieve its mission statement, the Hospital is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position:

Position: Radiographer (Grade K)

Job summary

The Radiographer will be responsible of providing X- ray services to patients regardless of their personal characteristics.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure a cordial welcoming and guiding x-ray clients.
• Providing sound advice to patients before taking x-ray pictures.
• Taking x-ray pictures on patient and interpret the results.
• Checking and replacing chemicals for the dark room.
• Ensure that radiology department has required resources through lobbying with management.
• Conducting audits of patient file to monitor patients care.
• Ordering resources for use in the x-ray department.
• Scanning patients using the ultra sound scanning machine and interpret the results.
• Conduct proper filling of x-ray pictures for future reference.
• Promote a safe working environment by adhering to infection prevention procedures.
• Supervise cleanliness of x-ray department and the junior staff.
• Evaluate and monitoring the quality of radiographs.
• Recording data in relevant registers.
• Performing any other duties assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Radiography Technology obtained from recognized training institution
• Registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
• Preferably 2 years post – qualification experience is a busy hospital environment.

• Well conversant with the Health system in Malawi
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to lead a team

• Problem identification and solving skills
• Empathetic and friendly.
