    Arizona State University (ASU) is recruiting applicants for the following position: Drivers for the Strengthening Higher Education Access in Malawi Activity (SHEAMA).

    SHEAMA is a USAID-funded activity implemented by Arizona State University with its consortium partner Overseas Strategic Consulting, Ltd. The objective of the project is to increase Malawi’s skilled, employable workforce by expanding access to higher education, especially for adolescent girls and young women, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable populations.

    Position: Project Drivers (Full Time) – 2 posts


    • Provide day- to – day messenger duties among others delivering and picking mail and parcels between offices
    • Drive Project Staff, partners, and consultants to and from field sites
    • Ensure that the Project vehicle is kept clean and has valid vehicle licenses including CoF at all times.
    • Responsible for daily maintenance of the project vehicle such as checking oil, air pressure in the tires, etc.
    • Log daily mileage and monitor the use of vehicle for all official trips, fuel consumption, oil changes, etc.
    • Produce weekly and monthly records of mileage travelled
    • Ensure the security of all passengers while driving
    • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by line manager/supervisor or management


    • Secondary school education, preferably MSCE, with a valid professional driving license class EB or PG is required.

    Work experience

    • Must have a Defensive Driving certificate with at least 5 years of working experience with NGOs or private sector
    • Familiar with driving four by four vehicles.
    • Must have good knowledge of both urban and rural routes/roads.
    • Must be fluent in both English and Chichewa.
