    Job Description

    Horizon Health Limited, one of the leading health insurance providers in Malawi, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Accounts Assistant in its Finance and Administration Department tenable at the company’s Head Office in Blantyre.

    JOB PURPOSE

    Reporting to the Accountant, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting the Accountant in various accounting and finance functions, debt collection and account reconciliations among others. The successful candidate will also produce reports in an accurate and timely manner. He/ She will also pray a vital role in contributing towards the company’s mission to be a leading healthcare insurance provider in Malawi.

    KEY RESULT AREAS

    The roles, responsibilities will be to:

    • Ensure customer invoices are sent timely and reconciled.
    • Maintain and balance receipt cash book.
    • Examine monthly returns on revenue and expenditure accounts.
    • Preparing payments vouchers and receipts of revenue.
    • Examining invoices and payment vouchers for correctness.
    • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
    • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
    • Any other duties as and when assigned from time to time.

    KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

    A minimum of 2-3 years of progressive professional experience in accounting.
    Thorough working knowledge of the insurance health systems, monitoring and its related procedures for analyzing client behaviors.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    ·       A minimum of a Diploma in Accounting or Financial Management
