Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Malawians, Civil Servants or non-civil servants as the case may be depending on the requirements of the post, for the vacancies listed below existing in the Civil Service

Post : Procurement Officer (Grade I)
Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location : Various Ministries and Departments

Applicants should be in possession of either a bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or Graduate Diploma of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (Level six).

Efficiently administer designated procurement activities of the procuring entity in strict compliance with the legal requirements while adapting best practices in procurement; assist with the closing and opening of bids’ maintain the security and confidentiality of bids’ draft contract documents orders and similar documents in accordance with IPDC instruction; assist in negotiations with supplies, etc.

Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be needed during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of appointment (PSR 19).
