VITALITE GROUP limited was founded to increase rural electrification and combat the poverty tax affecting low-income, energy-poor households across Malawi. Our stated mission is to make quality products and services accessible and affordable to all Malawian households.

VITALITE Malawi prides itself as one of the leaders in pay-as-you-go (PAYGO) platforms and the best service and distribution company that benefits the larger bracket of Malawians. Our products use mobile payments as a way to pay in installments for renewable energy and are sold through a network of VITALITE operated retail outlets across Malawi. Each sales and service center has a dedicated team of commission-based direct sales representatives who sell the product door-to-door in local communities.

VITALITE Malawi seeks the capabilities of an energetic and entrepreneurial Sales Associate. The position will be a key component of the team and will quickly join our leadership group that shapes countrywide strategy and tactics.

The successful applicant for this role will be a commercially experienced individual with a proven ability to establish and manage national sales and marketing, including the recruitment and management of direct sales agents. The applicant must be excited by new challenges and motivated to create world-class business success through determination, leadership, innovation, and hard work. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  •       Lead and execute sales growth to solar home system sales, multiple service centers, and country-wide customer base.
  • Collaborate with marketing through planning and execution including both below-the-line and above-the-line materials and campaign.
  •  Responsibility for management of company sales budget and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Utilize the company’s CRM cloud platform to project sales growth and manage existing distribution.
  • Champion the implementation of strategic sales plans by preparing action plans and resolving customer and audit queries in line with regional sales operational objectives.
  • Develop and implement sales objectives by consistent work plans and project management.
  • Develop and maintain a customer base by maintaining rapport with key customers and identifying new customer opportunities.
  • Work with all departments to develop a cohesive approach to sales and customer interaction.

INCUMBENT QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking an exceptional communicator with at least 3+ years of sales experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in fast pace work environments, ability to follow through, strong project management skills, and a keen attention to detail. Candidates who fit the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • 3+ years of senior experience in a related commercial field: financial services, mobile-money or other commission based product in Malawi.
  • The applicant should hold a Degree from a recognized institution.
  •  Proven ability to build and manage a network of field offices and regional representatives, with support functions, in a comparable industry.
  •  Educated in a related field, such as business administration, telecommunications or marketing.
  • Capacity to innovate, creating new processes and structures for distribution.
  • Ability to manage inventory and stock across multiple regions.
  • Ability to lead planning and execution for national BTL and ATL marketing.
  • Knowledge of the local business environment, particularly in financial services, mobile money or telecoms industries.
  •  Ability to build and manage relations at all levels:
    – Within a fast growing startup company
    – With small retail entrepreneurs in rural areas
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google applications (Google Docs, Calendar, and Gmail).
  • Affinity towards entrepreneurship, understanding potential benefits of mobile technology to low-income people.

  •  Proactive handling situations across departments and with customers
  •  Ability to multitask and follow through with each task
  • Fluent in English and Chichewa

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Driving license (Class B).
  • Willing to travel in-country.
  • Possession of a postgraduate qualification is added advantage
