Mary’s Meals Malawi is delighted to be recruiting for the following position. Mary s Meals Malawi is our largest school feeding programme and reaches over 30% of the primary school aged children, in Malawi, and we work closely with schools and community volunteers who help prepare and serve the nutritious meals every school day.

Mary’s Meals is a global movement supported by people from all walks of life and we are focused on one goal that every child receives a Nutritious daily meal in a place of education. We continue to change the Iives of over 1.6 million children who today will receive Mary’s Meals.

Position: Senior Regional Manager

Job purpose
The Senior Regional Manager will lead and manage the day-to-day implementation of Mary’s Meals School Feeding Programme (SFP) in the assigned region or districts and other areas as required in close collaboration with the Programme Manager Delivery. This post will undertake supervision of School Feeding Managers (SFMs), co-manage field offices, coordinate delivery of programme goods, collect, analyse and forward programme information to the Head Office, organise and implement trainings for staff, school personnel and volunteers, provide a conduit for information flow from the field to the head Office, resolve programme related Issues and liaise with appropriate traditional gate keepers on community mobilization and participation in SFP activities

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Development studies, Public Health, Nutrition, Community Development, Community Nursing, Education or any of the social sciences. Post graduate Degree will be added advantage.
  • At least five (5) years project/programme experience two of which should be at a management and team leadership level in an NGO environment with responsibility for managing staff, activities, financial resources, assets and external relationships.
  • Strong leadership skills including ability to be in control of delegated responsibilities.
  • Interpersonal Communicator Skills.
  • Strong reporting skills and experience in developing donor reports
  • Working Independently with limited supervision.
  • Practical experience of programme monitoring and evaluation.
  • Practical knowledge and experience of writing donor reports and funding applications.
  • Proven ability to work to programmes and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyse large volumes of diverse data.
  • Well-developed community mobilization skills
  • Good knowledge of financial management in the NGO sector
  • Computer literate in Microsoft packages especially Excel and Word
  • Energy and self-motivation.
  • Outstanding ability to self-organize.
  • Flexibility in extensive travelling and ability to drive manual 4X4 vehicles.
