St Andrews Community Hospital is a non-profit making institution under the Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi. The Hospital is a member of the Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM). It offers inpatient and outpatient services. St Andrews Community Hospital would like to recruit suitably qualified personnel to fill the following vacant position with immediate effect:

POSITION: ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT (Grade L)

RESPONSIBLE TO: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

JOB PURPOSE

To assist in the accounts office in preparation of audit trail and financial activities in the office.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must have a certificate in financial accounting from a accredited institution
• Those having professional qualification, ACCA, CIMA shall have added advantage
• Must have a minimum of 3 years working experience from a busy finance office on the same position
• Those who have worked with CHAM facility shall have added advantage

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• Must be sober, honest, and trustworthy
• Ability to make analytical decisions
• Must have excellent knowledge of finance systems and packages
• Must have excellent knowledge in other computer packages
• Attention to details.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and maintain expenditure cashbooks
• Maintain ledgers
• Post transactions
• Prepare and maintain cashbooks
• Ensure that payment vouchers and stamped paid and are properly filed
• Prepare LPOs, Payment vouchers, Cheques
• Update fixed Asset Register
• Assist in audit preparation with the other team.
• Any other relevant duties assigned from time to time
