    Job Description

    Greenbelt Authority (GBA), is a Parastatal organisation established under the Greenbelt Authority Act No. 23 of 2017. GBA’s main objective is to champion the development of large scale irrigation, with the aim of accelerating socio-economic transformation through increased agricultural productivity, agro-processing and easy access to markets.

    GBA has the following vacancy and invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position. The posts are tenable at GBA’s Head Office situated at Mwai House, City Centre, Lilongwe.


    Position: HUMAN RESOURCES AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER


    Job Summary:

    To provide guidance in human resource and administrative issues for effective and efficient delivery of services.

    Reporting to: The Director of Corporate Services


    Main Duties

    • Developing, reviewing and coordinating implementation of human resource and administrative policies, plans, strategies procedures, standards, regulations and budgets;
    • Interpreting human resource and administrative policies, terms and conditions of service and regulations;
    • Planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating staff development programs;
    • Overseeing the development, implementation and maintenance of inventory, and property and fleet management systems;
    • Handling staff discipline and welfare Issues such as grievances, compensation and other claims, leave applications as well as loans;
    • Developing and implementing staff orientation and induction programs;
    • Coordinating staff recruitment and selection;
    • Maintaining human resource Management Information System and database;
    • Designing and implementing performance management system and facilitating periodic performance appraisals.
    • Managing allocation of work to staff.


    Qualifications and Experience

    • Master’s Degree In Human Resource Management, Business Administration or Public Administration plus at least six (6) years’ post qualification experience at senior management level.
    • Those with Degree in Human Resource Management plus a minimum of ten (10) years may be considered.
