Job Description

FDH Financial Holdings Limited, is looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Systems Support Officer tenable at its Head Office in Blantyre. This position reports to the System Development and Support Manager.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide first level user support across all Core applications within FDH Group to ensure that the relevant systems are functional at maximum efficiency as per Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements

Major responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following;

  • Takes a leading role in the provision of support on core application systems in line with SLAs to ensure user/customer satisfaction
  • Reviews overnight and previous days fault/incident logs to ascertain and address all user applications related issues
  • Ensures all faults/incidents are resolved within SLAs and escalate faults/ incidents to System Development and Support Manager
  • Identifies shortcomings of core systems and implements solutions through appropriate change request
  • Carries out thorough tests on software / change requests before scheduling to load on the production and Disaster Recovery (DR) systems
  • Ensures implementation of change requests on both LIVE and DR systems ensuring best practice and adherence to industry standards
  • Periodically reviews efficiency of applications/peripherals and recommends solutions as necessary
  • Maintains appropriate security levels on the application systems and ensures security awareness is disseminated to users
  • Identifies root causes of system failures, conducts investigations of queries received from the branch network and provides solutions / guidance
  • Carries out Month End /Year End test runs to ensure integrity prior to actual runs and provides the reports for further attention
  • Develops annual financial and business development plans

Minimum level of Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related IT qualification.


Experience

The job holder is required to have at least 3 years of relevant experience in any of the following areas:

  • IT security, Infrastructure, Technical Support, Systems Administration, Applications Support, Electronic Banking/Channels Support, Programming, Database Administration, Systems Analysis
  • Banking/financial industry experience.
  • Knowledge of T24 Banking System.
  • Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills.
