Job Description

The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) is a parastatal organization established by an Act of Parliament to conduct such academic and other examinations at the conclusion of any approved course in Malawi as it may be considered desirable in the public interest and award certificates to successful candidates in such examinations.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, highly motivated, team players and results driven candidates for consideration to fill the following position:


POSITION: EXAMINATIONS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – M6 (PHYSICS AND CHEMISTRY)


KEY DUTIES

  • Facilitating test items development
  • Preparing confidential materials
  • Servicing awards meetings
  • Proof reading of typed and printed confidential documents
  • Convening moderation meetings, assembling papers and incorporating all comments and amendments suggested by moderators
  • Participating in curriculum development activities
  • Receiving and editing Chief Examiners reports
  • Servicing standardization meetings and monitoring marking exercise
  • Maintaining script library in the Security room
  • Conducting research studies pertaining to examinations.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Education or any other related field from a recognized public institution. Those with Master’s degree in Testing and Measurement will have an added advantage.
  • A minimum of four years of working experience as a Secondary School Teacher.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Must be of high integrity and trustworthy
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail
  • Must have communication, computer and analytical skills.
