We are seeking a Director of Health Services for an upcoming USAID health project.
Position: Director of Health Services
Responsibilities

Reporting to the Project Director, the Director of Health Services is responsible for all activities related to the delivery of quality health services. This includes but is not limited to, the provision of health services, quality improvement initiatives, interventions related to increasing access, training and capacity development of clinic staff, issues related to client information, counselling, and informed consent


Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in nursing, medicine, public health or a related science field, and a license that permits the clinical practice in Malawi.
  • At least 10 years’ of progressively increasing responsibility work on service delivery initiatives with at least 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership position that directed technical interventions to improve service delivery.
  • Experience working in maternal, neonatal, child health, and family planning strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Government of Malawi priorities and evidenced-based practices aimed at improving the quality of and access to health services.
  • Experience in interacting with host country agencies, including central and local government, development partners, civil society and community-based organizations.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, and the ability to develop and deliver technical presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret research findings and apply them to the Malawian context when required.
  • Prior experience developing strategic plans, workplans, and/or activity plans for service delivery programs
