    Job Description

    Applications are invited from suitably qualified and energetic persons to fill the following vacant positions at the SMEDI Board & Lodge and fuel service station situated at the SMEDI Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) in Mponela, Dowa. Successful candidates shall join a team of highly motivated and customer focused personnel responsible for the day to day running of the two Income Generating Units (IGUs):

    Conference & Banqueting Supervisor (1 Position)

    Qualifications and attributes

    • Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management with at least 3 years relevant experience;
    • Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills;
    • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written;
    • Attention to details;
    • Must be computer literate.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage all functions, banquets and ad-hoc meetings;
    • Maintain hygiene and standards for the conference rooms;
    • Manage and set all conference rooms according to guests’ desired style in time;
    • Work hand in hand with Head Chef on timely and hygienic food service and delivery in all functions.
