Job Description

Partners in Hope — under the Care and Treatment Grant is seeking to recruit highly motivated individuals to fill the following positions and to be based at the facilities:


The Community HIV/AIDS Nurse will lead and strengthen index case testing services at Partners in Hope PIH supported facility in collaboration with Ministry of Health (MOH) staff and other community implementing partners. She/he will focus on direct identification and care of index clients to achieve the 90-90-90 treatment targets for HIV testing, treatment and viral load suppression. S/he will also responsible for cervical cancer screening and treatment in line with MoH guidelines as well as support Differentiated Service Delivery (DSD) models and TB implementation.


  • In collaboration with health facility staffs ensure that health talks are performed daily in patient waiting areas in relation to HIV testing, retention, viral load, cervical cancer, TB back to care program and other DSD models 1st 90
  • Serve as primary site-level implementer of Index Case testing, Optimized Provider Initiated Testing and Counselling (PITC), including self-testing
  • Coordinate HIV testing at facility and community level, including ICT and HIV self-testing 2nd 90
  • Conduct clinical assessments and initiate ART treatment to newly identified positive index clients eligible for ART, including community-based ART initiation and treatment (for differentiated service delivery e.g. nurse led ART program), TB screening in high burden locations 3rd 90
  • Support scale up of Viral Load (VL) uptake and management of high viral load clients across the entire cascade Cervical cancer
  • Provide quality cervical cancer screening and provide treatment services to pre-cancer patients with available treatment options e.g. Cryotherapy
  • Conduct mentorship on cervical cancer to other technical and support staffs.
  • Take leading role in implementation of Continuous Quality Improvements(CQI) initiatives at PIH supported facilities.


  • Certified community nurse
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in community health issues particularly HIV/AIDS.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage community members
  • ART provider training HTS certificate is added advantage.
