Job Description

The Collaboration for Evidence-Based Healthcare and Public Health in Africa (CEBHA+) is an African-German research network with partners from Malawi, Uganda, South Africa, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Germany. The overall goal is to build long-term capacity and infrastructure for evidence-based healthcare and public health in Sub-Saharan Africa. To strengthen the transfer of contextualized research evidence into policy and practice, the research network pursues an Integrated Knowledge Translation (IKT) approach across all research activities

The IKT Fellow will support the coordination of CEBHA+’s Integrated Knowledge Translation Strategy at the College of Medicine

Responsibilities

  • Implement the Malawi site specific CEBHA+ Integrated knowledge translation strategy
  • Identify, build and maintain partnerships with decision makers and other stakeholders
  • Oversee the management and translation of research outputs from CEBHA+ research tasks
  • Promote application of research findings in decision-making processes at national, regional, and international levels
  • Develop both internal and external reports according to donor requirements
  • Develop and disseminate policy-oriented advocacy material
  • Contribute to, and support monitoring and evaluation of Knowledge translation activities
  • Work closely with other IKT focal points within the CEBHA network for the purpose of lesson sharing

Requirements

  • Degree in Public health or any health related field. Those with Master degree will have an advantage.
  • Relevant training and practice in Knowledge Translation and policy engagement
  • Experience in project management and scientific writing is an added advantage
  • Demonstrated excellent writing and communication skills in English
  • A track record in building research partnerships
  • Understanding of key policies and stakeholders in the field of development and health in Malawi
  • Analytical and critical thinking
